The European Community and the Commonwealth of the Bahamas signed an agreement on visa obligation cancellation on 28 May 2009.
This agreement established a visa-free regime for citizens of the European Union and citizens of the Bahamas, who can stay within the territory of the other contracting party for up to three months in the course of a period of six months. Thus, Czech tourists may travel to the Bahamas without a visa in compliance with the terms of this agreement. The agreement does not apply to persons travelling for the purpose of a profit-making activity.
The Bahamas are considered a relatively safe country with a standard level of common criminality.
